A quieter way to design
Amigurumi pattern generator that writes every round for you
Say what you want to make, or drop in a photo. You get a full crochet pattern back — every part, every round, every stitch count — in the yarn you already own.

Round 4 of the head
[sc 2, inc] 6 times
24 sts · worsted · 3.5 mm
You can picture it. Now you can crochet it.
You see a character in your head — a fox curled up asleep, your friend's cat, a chubby little whale — and then spend an hour looking for a pattern that does not exist.
You do not need to know how to write a pattern, or work out how many increases go into round four. That is the part the generator does. Your job is the nice part: picking colours and making the thing.
Describe the toy. Get the pattern.
A few words on the left, instructions you can crochet on the right. This is a real generated head, exactly as it turns up in your account.

Why these patterns actually work
Three things that decide whether a finished toy looks handmade or looks wrong — and none of them are your problem here.
Your stitches will line up
You have probably made a head that came out with a strange ridge down one side. That happens when the increases in every round land on top of each other instead of moving around the piece.
Every pattern here spreads them out, round by round, so they spiral and the shape stays smooth. You never have to think about it.

Works with the yarn you already have
No buying a specific brand to follow a pattern. Say what is in your basket and the finished size, hook and how much yarn you need are all worked out for that.
The stitch counts never change — your gauge does. Same instructions, three very different toys.

Nobody wants to wake a phone every third round with a hook in their hand. Download the pattern, print it, tick the rounds off with a pencil.
- A checkbox on every round
- Materials, gauge and abbreviations on the first page

Questions people ask
Everything people want to know before they make the first round.
Still curious? Try it free →- Is the amigurumi pattern generator free?
- Yes. A free account includes three patterns a month, and the price calculator, pattern resizer and yarn weight converter are free to everyone with no account at all. No card is asked for until you want more generations.
- What does an amigurumi pattern generator actually do?
- It writes the instructions. You give it a description — the animal, the size, the yarn — and it returns a written crochet pattern: a materials list, an abbreviation key, each part worked round by round with its stitch count, then how to sew the parts together. The same structure you would buy from a designer, in about a minute.
- Can it generate an amigurumi pattern from an image?
- Yes. Upload a picture of a toy, a drawing or even a real animal, and the generator reads the shapes: how big the head is against the body, where the colours change, what the ears and tail are doing. Then it writes the rounds that build those shapes. It works best on a clear, well-lit photo with the whole subject in frame.
- Do I need to know how to crochet already?
- You need the basics: a magic ring, single crochet, increases and decreases. Every pattern includes an abbreviation key. If you have finished one amigurumi before, you can follow these.
- How do I get the size right?
- Finished size comes from your gauge, not from the pattern. Tell the generator which yarn you are using and it picks the hook and works out the measurements for it. Crochet a small swatch first — two people can follow identical instructions and finish four centimetres apart, purely on tension.
- Which yarn weights are supported?
- Sport, worsted and bulky, each with the hook normally used for amigurumi — one or two sizes below the yarn label, so the fabric is dense enough that stuffing does not show through.
- Are the patterns accurate enough to crochet from?
- They are written in standard notation with consistent stitch counts and increases spread evenly around each round. They are still generated drafts, so crochet a gauge swatch before committing to a big piece.
- Do I own the patterns I generate?
- Yes. Patterns you generate are yours to crochet, adapt and sell finished items from. You keep the rights to what you make.
- How do I make my own amigurumi pattern?
- By hand it means choosing a starting stitch count, working out how many increase rounds a shape needs, spreading those increases evenly, then repeating that for every part. The generator does that arithmetic and writes it out, so you start from a working draft instead of a blank page.
- How much does it cost to make an amigurumi?
- Usually a few pounds of yarn plus several hours of your time, which is the part most people forget to count. The free price calculator adds up materials, your hourly rate, overhead and marketplace fees so you can see what a piece really costs before you list it.
